At least...I feel like it.
Sping Break is over, we're back in the swing of things at school, the play Brent and I are doing is going swiftly, I've got a few deadlines hanging over my head at work...
I feel a bit like the dog who swims upstream.
One day at a time. Just wanted to check in and say that I'm not dead.

We've been in Phoenix approximately one day.
The trip got off to an interesting start. We left the hotel yesterday morning (5 am) and were in the shuttle, when we realized we'd left our ticket information in the car. There was a moment of panic, till we figured we were OK cause we'd done e-tickets, and it occurred to me, "Really, this is the age of electronics, and if they don't have my shit on the computer, then I'm not going."
Anyway, it all turned out OK. We checked in rather quickly, and did the whole security thing. It's been a couple of years since I've done the whole airplane bit, and new regs state all liquid and liquid-like substances must be in a quart ziploc baggie. I, of course, did not know this...
I will be billing United Airlines for approximately $10. For compensation of one container of Quench hand lotion, one tube of lip gloss, and one small pot of Burt's Bees Lip Balm. Thankfully, they did not take my bottles of Boston contact cleaner and solution.
Anyway, I'm off to Prescott and other such beautiful Arizona country to drown my toiletry loss-sorrow in some hardcore shopping.
I probably need new sandals. See ya.

***Who can tell me what song the above sentence is in?***
Yes, folks, Crazy Dirtyfeet sucks bigtime.
I have gotten caught up in the cesspool of life, and let a week slip past without illuminating my legions of dear readers.
And now is no time to be lengthy...I shall keep it short.
I will be leaving a few short hours from this state...my parents and I are driving to Kansas City this afternoon, where we will board a plane (in the WEE hours of Tues. morning) to Phoenix, Arizona. Where my brother lives.
I am on Spring Break right now, and have the next six days for vacation. And I am going South. No more winter coat, cold medicine, and muddy shoes. I will be there till Friday afternoon. Somebody sing me the Hallelujah chorus.
I have a hari appointment in about a half-hour, then I will finish packing and be on my merry way. I plan on listening to my iPod, reading Homer's "The Odyssey" and other various travel books on Greece, and having unrushed conversations with my parents.
At some point, my dad will probably drink too much and begin spouting opinions that are completely ignorant and based on nothing but his outrageously pointless observations, and my brother and I will laugh and try to keep the discussion from getting too heated.
Ah, good times.
You all have fun around here...I'll try to check in if possible.

In a matter of several minutes, my mother and I will be off to enjoy a night of culture at the theatre.
A professional acting troupe is putting on "Lost in Yonkers" at the auditorium here in town, a mere five minutes from my house.
I saw "LIY" in high school, and don't remember being awed by it. Of course, I was a punk high schooler, and probably just didn't "get it."
It should be fun. I'm older, wiser, and going with my mom, who is about as local as you can get...she'd wear sweatpants if I let her...but she likes getting out to these sort of things, and my dad doesn't touch this type of stuff with a ten-foot pole, so the burden falls to me to expose my mother to visceral experiences. *sigh*
I love my parents and I realize I just slandered them.
Anyway, ta-ta for now, lovelies.

I'm sure you are all wondering why I did not title this entry "Got To Give It Up Part Two." I'm also sure you've realized my reluctance to plagiarize the great, late Marvin Gaye.
Anyway.
Last fall, I performed in my first community theater production, called "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940." It was really fun, and sort of reignited that acting bug that I had in high school, but had faded in college and after. So, shortly after this show, I was asked to join the community theatre board of directors, which is quite sudden when you think about it, and probably tells you how desperate they were for new blood.
So, here I am, on the OCT Board of Directors. Not really knowing what's totally going on, but hey, I like drama.
Well, auditions are here for the first play of the new season. Guess who's been roped into assistant director?
