I just had a lengthy post here about my visit to the orthodontist, and for some stupid reason, it got deleted or something.

And I'm too tired to repost. I'll bring you all up to speed on my teeth situation tomorrow.

So, my dad's birthday is coming up on the 13th. I don't usually buy the guy presents because he's, like, the hardest dude to shop for. So I end up taking him out or something like that.

This year, I'm making a CD for him. He listens to a lot of country, which I don't, but he also listens to classic rock, oldies, and instrumentals, which are my favorites. So, I thought I'd put this little mix together for him from my iTunes collection.

I would like you all to disregard my earlier entry where I hailed February and sang its praises. February is no longer my friend.

If February were a disease, it would be something like psoriasis, painful and practically insufferable, but yet endurable, unfortunately.

If February were my phobia, it would be head lice and other tiny things I cannot see crawling all over me.

If February were my least favorite food, it would be liver and onions.

If February were a book, it would Grapes of Wrath, because I hated that mother.

If February were a person, it would be my ex-boyfriend whose ass my mild-mannered husband wants to kick...still...after 10+ years.

AD NAUSEUM!

February sucks. No offense to February lovers out there. We've reached minus temperatures...I mean, way minus temps, and it just wears me down. It's the type of cold that is painful. It's the type of cold that gets right down into your bones and doesn't leave until May. It's the type of cold that forces me to abandon my "The-Earth-is-cleansing-itself" bullshit philosophy and want to tell everyone to go f-ck themselves. In fact, it's the type of cold that makes me use the f-word a lot more than I normally do.

So f-cking there.

Not that posting here is a waste of time, but I've got to do something purposeful until 5:35, which is roughly six minutes from now.

5:35 is when I can eat food.

I had my dentist cleaning today. I loathe going to the dentist, but hey, I don't want to end up like my parents in their mid-50s with dentures...so I go.

And naturally, I get the strawberry-flavored fluoride...and then I'm not allowed to eat or drink anything for 30 minutes.

Hey - I'm down to three minutes!

Blogging here is like blogging in a black hole. Time becomes nonexistent and years could pass here on Earth...and it would seem like a few seconds to me. I fully expect, when I emerge from this computer room after updating my blog, my children will have grown and graduated from college and my husband will be nearing his mid-60s.

Of course, this clock here now says 5:34. But it might be slow. In fact, it probably is. Somewhere else in this house, it's 5:35...

In that case, Pizza Hut pizza awaits. Bye now.
